Confronting Your Fears!

Have you ever had to deal with a situation that turns your stomach?

You know those times when you have to deal with an issue, but the very thought of it makes you feel as sick as a parrot (do parrots get sick?).

It maybe the thought of going back to work on a Monday morning, or having to talk to one of your employees about their lack of productivity. For others it is the very thought of going online to look at your bank statement or open those bills that may be stacking. For some it may be having to tell your boss you are having to have another doctors appointment while others it is just the plan thought of cleaning their neglected home.

I have many of these moments in my life, but the very thought of any type of confrontation tops them all. I hate any type of confrontation. Whether someone has a problem with me or I have a problem with them. Even the slightest type of confrontation scares me to death. All I want to do is bury my head in the sand! The hardest thing for me is that I have people in my life who are fearless when it comes to confrontation.

Lately, I’ve had a few different issues that have required confrontation. These have been enlightening for me. As I develop as a leader the more I realize that burying my head in the sand is not an option. I have discovered when I can’t do something myself, I just rely on God, close my eyes and go for it. I have found that when I come out on the other end that it really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I’ve decided to read up on confronting in a positive healthy way. So the stomach turning may still be there, but it’s not something that is going to stop me in the future.

Remember this, that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but love, power and most importantly a peaceful mind.  2 Timothy 1:7
