Canada & Ice Skating

Two weeks ago I did not feel the urge to ever visit Canada nor did I enjoy one minute of Ice Skating. It’s amazing what two weeks can do. I’m not suddenly confessing I’m a closet Ice Skating fan because I am not, but I am now open to it.

The Olympic Games I feel highlighted the best of Canada and Ice Skating. While they are both not my new favorite passions I am now open to both. The reason for this change is that fact that over the last two weeks I have seen a different side of both, a side I had never seen before. My prejudice of Canada and of Ice Skating as a sport were caused by my pre-conceived ideas. These have now changed.

Imagine if the church could have two weeks to highlight to the world its best? Imagine if the world could see that great things many churches are doing around the world? I think many people would open themselves up to something they had always rejected because of their pre-conceived ideas.

In John 1:43-50 we see a man called Nathaniel meet Jesus for the first time. This man Nathaniel is skeptical because Jesus is from a town called Nazareth and for Nathaniel he is not open to people from Nazareth. In one moment Nathaniel sees the best of Jesus, this changes his whole view of Nazareth and changes his whole life for the better.

What can you do today to highlight the best that the church can give to this world? It may just make a difference in one persons life forever!
