Give Cloe An Opportunity!

Have you ever had one of the moments we see in the movies where you are standing in a crowded room with lots of activity when suddenly you focus on something and everything else becomes quiet and you find you have blocked out all the noise to focus on that one thing? Well I had an experience like that yesterday.

There was a party in my office for a lady who was leaving. As the jokes, noise and food was filling the air my eyes began to focus in on one of the most precious things the human eye can see.

Her name was Cloe. Cloe is a two-year old little girl who is almost three! She has blond hair, blue eyes and the most delicate features. On top of that she says the cutest things and is one of the kindest kids I have ever meet. As the noise of the room blocked out I heard that still small voice inside of me saying that ‘as cute, pure and innocent as Cloe is now, one day she will find herself suffering eternal damnation unless someone tells her about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ’.

Not something you really want to think about at an office party, but that was the reality. When I think on those things it sometimes makes me question why a loving God would send a cute little innocent girl to a suffering eternity! That is when I get myself a little perspective and go to the bible. Romans 5:12-14 tells us:

Just as through one man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, and also death spread to all men because all sinned….Death reigned from Adam to Moses, even those who had not sinned according to the way Adam had sinned‘.

Cloe has not sinned like Adam did back in the garden of Eden. However, the seed of that sin lays dormant in the very soul of Cloe, and one day it will emerge and become a prominent part of her life.

This may seem unfair to most, but really Cloe is not living an unfair life. Cloe is living a life with an opportunity to overcome that sin in her life and give herself a place in eternal Glory not eternal damnation. You see even though there is nothing we can do about the sin from Adam in our lives, God did do something. He did everything. He came to earth in the form of a man and took the punishment for us. Therefore, through Jesus Christ we have hope, faith and most importantly, LIFE!

Cloe has hope, but only if someone is willing to share to the message and gospel of Jesus Christ. That still small voice inside of me urged me to make it my life’s goal to make sure that Cloe and boys and girls, men and women like Cloe do not live through their lives without the opportunity to hear that Christ died for them so that they can live, and that if they believe on and then follow Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives they will find eternal Glory not suffer eternal damnation.

What are you going to do today to make sure that the Cloe’s of this world will hear the message of hope?
