One thing that I have chosen to do for a while now is to always take the higher road!
For some this is harder than for others, and I have to admit it is not easy for me to do. However, I have seen with my own eyes how life can get very complicated and difficult when people decide they always have to get one up on everybody else.
For me, life is too short and too precious. I have found that when you take the high road, no matter how difficult the situation three things happen:
- You feel better about yourself – A guilty conscience is a troubled conscience. An innocent conscience is a life of freedom!
- God honors you – There is no question, no matter how right you may be in a situation, if you take the high road God can’t help himself, he blesses you like crazy!
- Others will respect you – Maybe not everyone, but by taking the high road you will earn respect and friendships far more than you would taking the other road.
I don’t know about you, but I want these three things to be a permanent feature in my life. I am choosing to take the high road no matter how it may restrict me in the immediate future.
The high road is where the action is at. So who wants to join me as we seek out a higher road?

The high road may not always be the smoothest… but its definitely the best road to travel.
