I find it amazing how many people believe lies that are told to them. They may be lies told to them as a child, lies told to them by a teacher, lies told to them by a parent, lies told to them by a child, lies told to them by an employer, lies told to them by a partner, lies told to them by a church!

It amazes me how many people are hurting because of lies told to them. It amazes me how many people hold back from doing what they were designed to do because of lies. It amazes me how many people have got themselves in a bind they cannot get out of because of lies told to them. It also amazes me how many people no longer want anything to do with God, church or the Christian life because of lies told to them.

Lies hurt, lies hold back, lies damage and lies destroy. The bible tells us that there is a father of lies. He is the one who comes to kill, steal and destroy. It also tells us that this father is not God, it is his enemy, a fallen angel called Satan! In John 8:44, Jesus tells us that those who take their eyes off God become the children of the father of lies. When your father speaks you listen and you do what he says! Many of us have believed the lies told to us because others have taken our eyes off God; situations in our lives have taken our eyes off God and life has taken our eyes off God.

However, those who look at God in the eyes become the children of God. They are the ones who hear God and they are the ones who understand the truth of God. The truth is this, God loves you, God sent his only son to die for you, God designed you and God has a plan for you. This is a plan to prosper you, a plan not to bring you harm but a plan to use you, a plan to raise you up and a plan to love you!

Keep your eyes on God, don’t believe the lies that have been told you time and time again but embrace that God wants you and that God desires you today!
